Winter Garden

It is mid-January and I have been slowly, and peacefully, planting our winter garden. The biggest struggle right now is keeping the slugs and snails away.

Yesterday, West and I worked in the garden planting garlic. In California, garlic can be planted now and is harvested around June when the tops have yellowed.

This year we planted California garlic.

Luca “helps” us.

Sweet peas are growing taller. On cold nights we will need to keep them covered.

I love the color of our baby lettuce.

Siena loves taking photos. Here’s a photo of “Momo” from her farm archive.
